This cultural start of the year is full of promises... The first temporary exhibitions have opened up their doors and there is plenty to fill up your diary :-)
Let's begin with the closest one to the hotel, at Musée Maillol, with the Douanier Rousseau to Séraphine exhibit. You will discover just about a hundred paintings representing some of the most influential artists from the Naive movement, also called Modern primitive. A themed timeline will take you against the currents of the other movements from the post first war era.
On a second visit, we suggest you to head to the Centre Pompidou to discover the exhibit Bacon in all letters. It is a very unique exhibition that is visual and sonorous as it exposes the painter's pieces side by side with a soundtrack of the philosophers' and poets' texts that influenced the artist.
Lastly, you can visit the Musée Marmottan Monet for another wonderful exhbition and discover the lesser known side of Piet Mondriant. Indeed, we mostly all know the geometric and graphic masterpieces with bright colors, but very few know about Mondrian's other work. He was through a more figurative phase of which you will be able to observ some of his landscape pieces, paintings of flowers and portraits.
