Painters from Holland are in Paris at the Petit Palais
As of the 6th of February 2018, you will be able to discover the wonderful exhibition organised with the Van Gogh museum of Amsterdam, about the exchange of influences between the painters from Holland and France at the end of the 19th century.
Indeed, during the second half of the 19th century, Paris was a highly regarded place for exchange and the art business. A large number of dutch painters decided to settle there to be at the heart of the new artistique wave. They would then bring back with them, to Holland, a little bit of the era's style but mainly the new painting technics they had acquired. In the same manner, some renowned dutch artist, such as Van Gogh or Jongkind, managed to get their vision recognised and to bring a renewed touch to their french equivalent.
This is an exhibition that will make you (re)discover some beautiful artwork but also the Petit Palais, a wonderful place with an ideal garden for a coffee break :-)
