From May 7 to September 7, 2025, discover a remarkable exhibition created in collaboration with the Palais Galliera (Fashion Museum): Worth, Inventing Haute Couture.
The exhibition traces the history of the House of Worth, founded in 1858 by Charles Frederick Worth, a pioneer of modern haute couture. Spanning 1,100 square meters, it features over 400 pieces—including dresses, accessories, paintings, and decorative arts—from prestigious collections (Palais Galliera, the MET, the V&A, etc.).
The exhibition follows a chronological path from the Second Empire to the 1920s, highlighting:
-
Worth’s innovations (fashion shows, designer signature, royal clientele)
-
Influential women dressed by the house (Countess Greffulhe, Lady Curzon…)
-
The house’s stylistic evolution over four generations
-
The emergence of "Worth blue" and iconic perfumes (e.g., Je Reviens)
